42,000 euros: With this amount of funding, Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung is making a strong effort to attract new volunteers as part of the "social bet" and is coming a great deal closer to its declared goal of promoting civic engagement in Upper Franconia.

Betting competition of the Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung: A complete success!

Supporting civic engagement and thus strengthening social participation in Upper Franconia is a top priority for Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung . The "social bet" initiative makes this clear once again: the foundation bets that organisations will not manage to recruit at least three new volunteers to support their services within a period of three months. Thus, with its betting announcement, the foundation challenges non-profit organisations to actively search for possible supporters and to inspire them for the respective voluntary work. Despite the attractive bet of up to 1,400 euros per winning bet, no one expected that the expression of interest from the non-profit organisations would take on such proportions: "Within just two days, the original ten betting partnerships to be awarded were received, and one day later we already had twenty applications," says Chairman of the Foundation, Frank Alexander Kühne. "In view of the large number of expressions of interest, it was obvious to first increase the number of betting partnerships to twenty and finally even to thirty." In order to strengthen social commitment in Upper Franconia, the Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung is thus releasing funding totalling up to 42,000 euros with the tender for the "social bet".

Three out of thirty bets already ended early!

Since September, non-profit organisations whose sphere of activity lies in Upper Franconia and which strengthen the social and societal participation of their target group with their offers and services have been able to apply for a betting partnership by submitting an informal expression of interest to Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung . In this way, the foundation was able to win a total of thirty betting partners, spread all over Upper Franconia. Every bet placed is considered a win from the third newly recruited volunteer onwards and is rewarded with 500 euros. However, it is worthwhile for the organisations to activate further supporters. "For every fourth to sixth volunteer won, we donate an additional 100 euros, and for every seventh to tenth new supporter, we donate as much as 150 euros," says Foundation Officer Tina Beeg. All in all, the participating organisations can expect to receive up to 1,400 euros in funding. The Kulmbach Protestant Youth, the TV Kleinschwarzenbach and the Freund statt fremd e.V. from Bamberg showed special commitment: although the betting partners have a whole three months from the individually agreed start of the bet to reach the betting target, these three organisations were able to activate ten new supporters well before the end of the betting period and thus not only win the "social bet" but also enjoy the maximum financial support.

It is about much more than financial support!

In order to be able to recruit new volunteers to support their offer and thus also the "social bet", the participating organisations depend on the willingness and commitment of the citizens of Upper Franconia. Even independent of the prospect of the financial wager, every contact is happily accepted. "Through the 'social bet', our betting partners benefit in two ways! The financial stake is certainly a great incentive to actively search for volunteers. But in the end, the real winners are the new supporters themselves," says Frank Kühne. New volunteers also include supporters who have so far only been passive members, idealistic supporters or similar and now want to become actively involved, as well as members who are already active in the organisation and who take on a new office or participate in a new area of responsibility/project. As proof of the bet, the participating organisations must submit photos of the volunteers who have become involved in the respective area of responsibility, as well as a corresponding description of their tasks, no later than 14 days after the end of the bet.
