"Innovation is our tradition! - in this spirit, it has always been a special concern of Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung to promote food research as part of its funding activities. With the aim of laying a solid foundation for future exchange and thus promoting joint research potential, the Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung invited professors from the Kulmbach Campus of the University of Bayreuth to a networking dinner yesterday, Tuesday 09 November 2021. A total of twenty participants, including the research team and part of the foundation's board, two executives from RAPS GmbH & Co. KG as well as the professors of the Kulmbach Campus attended the "Professor Dinner" at the Museum Educational Centre (MUPÄZ) of the museums in Kulmbach's Mönchshof. An introductory tour of the spice museum was followed by the joint dinner, which focused not only on culinary delights but also on getting to know each other and networking.

Food research - A matter close to the hearts of the Foundation and the Campus

The founder of Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung was a pioneer in food research in his time: many of his forward-looking ideas and process engineering achievements made RAPS GmbH & Co. KG to become a globally active company. This is another reason why Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung , as a dormant partner in the RAPS company, is particularly dedicated to promoting food research. "Our goal is to promote innovation and to put Kulmbach on the international map as an important food location. The Kulmbach campus of the University of Bayreuth, with its focus on food research, is a real asset in this respect," says Frank Alexander Kühne, Chairman of the Foundation Board of Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung. "It is our concern to advance food research in close exchange with the Kulmbach Campus." With this intention, Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung invited the professors of the Kulmbach Campus to the Professor Dinner.

Lively exchange accompanied by culinary moments of pleasure

Yesterday, Tuesday, 09.11.2021, a total of twenty dinner guests came together in the Museum Educational Centre (MUPÄZ) of the museums in Kulmbach's Mönchshof, including the research team and, with Frank Alexander Kühne and Prof. Dr. Dr. habil. Manfred Gareis, part of the board of the foundation.
In addition, Georg Achterkamp (Chief Research & Development Officer) and Dr. Udo Martens (Chief Operating Officer), two executives of RAPS GmbH & Co. KG took part. The Kulmbach Campus was represented by Prof. Dr Stephan Clemens (Founding Dean) and Dr Susanne Strebin (Coordinator), among others. Also among the guests were Prof. Dr. Stephan Leible (President University of Bayreuth) and Dr. Nicole Kaiser (Chancellor University of Bayreuth) as well as Julian Mangels from the Bavarian State Ministry for Science and Art. In keeping with the history of the company and foundation founder Adalbert Raps, the network meeting started at 5 p.m. with a guided tour of the Spice Museum before dinner was served from 6.30 p.m. onwards. The menu, consisting of three courses, was prepared by Susanne Klippstein and Christian Fiedler. Both belong to the Culinary Excellence Team of Raps GmbH & Co KG, which also selected the dishes. During the dinner, the participants had ample opportunity to engage in exchange. Thanks to strict Corona rules, planned seat changes were possible and ensured a relaxed atmosphere. The professor dinner initiated by Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung was thus entirely characterised by the idea of networking and can be described as a complete success.
