Heroes of the homeland Upper Franconia 2022: The hero teams have been determined!
After an intensive application and interview phase, the ten hero teams of the "Heroes of Upper Franconia 2022" competition have been selected.

After the application and interview phase has been completed: The hero teams of Heimat Oberfranken have been determined!
Eighteen applications, ten hero teams: After the Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung in cooperation with the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Bayreuth had called for participation in the competition "Heroes of Upper Franconia 2022" at the beginning of April and subsequently reviewed the applications received, the ten hero teams of the third round of the competition have finally been determined! Under the motto "Create new impact instead of awarding existing projects", four organisations from the city and district of Kulmbach, two from Bayreuth, one each from Bamberg, Hof and the district of Wunsiedel, as well as one supra-regionally active organisation will embark on a hero mission at the end of June 2022. With the start of phase 1 - "Further development and networking" - of the competition programme, the participants can expect a comprehensive range of workshops and coaching sessions that focus on the aspects of team, vision, impact, financing and communication, provide the volunteers with sustainable qualifications and promote exchange among each other. The first workshop on the topic of "Team" will be held in Bayreuth on Saturday, 25 June 2022. www.raps-stiftung.de

The Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung and the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Bayreuth made their decision carefully. "During the interviews, we were not only interested in the pure offer or the project idea with which the individual organisations had applied to participate, but above all in getting to know the teams behind it and their motivation! Only if the overall package is right can we succeed in creating a sustainable impact for the region within the framework of the Upper Franconia Heroes of Home competition concept," says Tina Beeg, Social Affairs Officer at the Foundation.
Promoting development potential - creating impact for Upper Franconia
In keeping with the motto "Create new impact instead of awarding existing projects", "Heroes of Home Upper Franconia 2022" is primarily about the development of the participating projects and the organisations behind them. The first phase of the competition programme is characterised in this sense by an extensive workshop and coaching offer, which is led by Prof. Dr. Eva Jakob- Junior Professor for Social Entrepreneurship, Christian Teringl -Research Associate Human Resource Management &Intrapreneurship/Foundation Consulting and Marie Enzberger - Master's student and student assistant in the field of Social Entrepreneurship and herself a social entrepreneur of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Bayreuth. Within the framework of three mandatory workshops for the hero teams, which focus on the aspects of team, vision, impact, financing and communication, the volunteers not only have the opportunity to acquire further qualifications, network and exchange ideas, but are also motivated by specific tasks to get directly involved and actively develop their project. "A functioning team in which the roles are clearly distributed, in which the individual team members can rely on each other and which follows a common vision represents the basis for the implementation of a successful project," says Christian Teringl. For this reason, the kick-off workshop on 25 June 2022 in Bayreuth will focus on the topic of "team". Among other things, the roles in the team, its visions and team cohesion will be examined. While the second workshop on Friday, 8 July 2022, will focus on the development of social "business models" and stakeholder management, the final workshop on Saturday, 24 September 2022, will delve into the aspects of impact measurement, public relations and marketing.
Heroes of the Homeland Upper Franconia 2022: An initiative with added value
The first phase of the competition will end with the Hero Festival on 22 October 2022, which will enable three of the ten teams to move on to Phase 2 - Work and Grow. In addition to further support in terms of content, the three teams whose development was most convincing will also receive financial support in the form of unconditional heroine money of up to 15,000 euros. The special thing about it: The three selected teams decide themselves on the amount and type of payment. It is conceivable, for example, to make a one-time call for donations for a larger investment or to make recurring monthly payments for the basic financing of the programme. With the initiative "Heroes of Upper Franconia 2022", Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung is releasing a total of 130,000 euros in financial resources to promote social participation in Upper Franconia.
