Ended: "Social Bet" to activate volunteer supporters

With the "Social Bet", the Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung challenges non-profit organisations to recruit new volunteers.

18.3.2021

"Want to bet that your organisation will not manage to recruit at least three new volunteers to support your programme within a period of three months? - With this bet, Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung challenges non-profit organisations in Upper Franconia to find new supporters for volunteering and thus once again advocates for the strengthening of civic engagement in the region.

An attractive bet

In addition to the socially minded idea behind it, the "Social Bet" of Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung also involves an attractive bet in the form offinancial support of up to 1,400 euros per bet. The tiers of the bet are as follows:

  • Financial support in the amount of 500 euros upon fulfilment of the betting condition for the third volunteer recruited
  • Additional financial support of 100 euros each for every fourth to sixth volunteer recruited
  • Additional financial support of 150 euros each for every seventh to tenth volunteer recruited

The wager is at the free disposal of the organisation for its purposes, but may not be spent on remuneration of volunteers.

Become a betting partner and profit - This is how it works:

Since September 2020, non-profit organisations have been able to apply as betting partners by submitting an informal expression of interest to the Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung - addressed to Tina Beeg, Foundation Officer for Social Affairs.

The prerequisite for this was that the sphere of activity of the respective organisation was in Upper Franconia and that they strengthen the social and societal participation of their target group with their offers and services. Once this requirement had been positively reviewed and the foundation had given its approval, the betting partner only had to fill out a profile of the organisation and its commitment. The betting period was then agreed with the betting partner and extended over three months from the start date, whereby this had to be in the current calendar year (2020).

The decisive factor for determining the winners is how many new volunteers could be recruited per organisation. New volunteers also include supporters who were previously only passive members, ideal supporters or the like who now want to become actively involved, as well as members who are already active in the organisation and who have taken on a new office or participated in a new area of responsibility/project.

As proof of betting, the participating organisations must submit photos of the volunteers recruited in their respective area of responsibility as well as a corresponding description of their responsibilities no later than 14 days after the end of the betting period.

All advertised betting partnerships have been awarded. Unfortunately, no further applications can be considered.
