Microfund of the Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung
Microfunds in Bamberg, Bayreuth, Coburg, Kulmbach and Kronach allow for quick and unbureaucratic support of social engagement at the smallest level.
With the establishment of what are known as microfunds, the Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung seeks to provide the best possible support to organisations as well as private individuals who work for the benefit of the socially disadvantaged - be it in the public or non-profit sector or in the context of neighbourhood assistance - and thus enable quick and unbureaucratic requests for funding of very small amounts of up to 125 euros.
Financial support for micro-projects
Whether it is the purchase of books for language courses, material for integrative workshops, travel costs for excursions or equipment for the implementation of various sports activities: Even if social engagement is often organised in the framework of voluntary work, it is still associated with costs. Local initiatives and small projects in particular tend to lack financial resources. The difficulty here is that many 'pots', for example, are only eligible for funding from a minimum amount or the guidelines of the funding partner require a certain own contribution to the financing of a project. This is exactly where the Foundation comes in with a microfund. Above all, the many volunteers should not have to bear an additional burden.
Unbureaucratic call for funding
The concept, which focuses on an unbureaucratic call for funding and the associated rapid financial support for voluntary work, is very simple: these microfunds of 5,000 euros each are made available to the city and/or district to support small projects that generally promote civic engagement for the benefit of the socially disadvantaged. Both organisations and private individuals are thus able to apply for earmarked funds of up to 125 euros per project application within the framework of the funding guidelines. All that is required is to fill out a one-page application form and submit all receipts for expenses incurred in the project to the respective fund administrator for the final drawdown of the project funds.

Note: Prior to the expansion of the content, the fund was exclusively aimed at volunteers in the field of refugee and migrant aid. Until the resources from this fund have been completely used up, the previous fund administrators will continue to be available as contact persons and disbursing offices for this area of engagement. After that, the disbursing office will be the Bayreuth Volunteer Centre, although Mr Koussemou and Ms Herrmann will be happy to assist with applications in the area of refugee and migrant assistance.
