KlinikClowns on a visit to the Zapfendorf nursing home
Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung continues to be involved in clown visits to senior citizens in need of care.

For eleven years, the residents of the Manus retirement and nursing home in Zapfendorf have benefited from regular "visits" by the KlinikClowns. Because the regular clown visits of KlinikClowns Bayern e.V. are financed by donations, the association and the Zapfendorf old people's home are very pleased that Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung has made clown visits to the senior citizens in Zapfendorf possible for the third year in a row.
Clown visits for more joie de vivre!
Once a month, "Beppo" and "Kaa(r)la Knuffl", as KlinikClowns, visit elderly people in need of care at the Manus old people's and nursing home in Zapfendorf and provide joy and more quality of life with improvised clown play, music and loving personal attention. Jenny Dotterweich, who manages the recreational area at the Manus Social Centre, describes the effect of the clown visits as follows: "The visit of the clowns is a new experience for our residents every time. With their cheerful manner, Kaa(r)la and Beppo put a smile on their faces, and some even have tears rolling down their cheeks - partly out of joy from laughing, partly out of emotion over many a memory that comes back. Memory is one of the most important existential experiences for our residents; awakening it through the clowns helps them to maintain their zest for life in old age".
KlinikClowns in action throughout Bavaria
You can find detailed information about the KlinikClowns at www.klinikclowns.de. The KlinikClowns are in action all over Bavaria to provide fun and joy with their visits to sick people and those in need of care and to bring them often significant relief in their living situation. Where they are currently not allowed into the facilities because of the pandemic, they keep in touch with many creative activities, for example with clown visits in front of the facilities instead of in them or digital "clown visits".
