Successful online launch increases anticipation
After the Way to Future Food Digital Insect Symposium, plans are starting for a physical insect symposium in Kulmbach.

Shaping a sustainable food system - that is the declared goal of the Way to Future Food initiative, which was launched as a partner project of the Nutrition Cluster at the Competence Centre for Nutrition (KErn) and Adalbert-Raps-Stiftung . The initiative has now started its first round of events with the three-part "Digital Insect Symposium". Further formats are already being planned.
Digital Insect Symposium offers successful W2FF kick-off
In three complementary online formats with the speakers Jutta Saumweber (Consumer Advice Centre Munich), Prof. Dr. Kai Purnhagen (Chair of Food Law at the Kulmbach Campus of the University of Bayreuth) and Dr. Ofir Benjamin (Lecturer and Scientist at the Institute of Food Science at Tel-Hai College in Israel), relevant impulses were given around the topics of "Consumer Protection", "Food Law" and studies on sensory as well as functional aspects of insects. Participation was free of charge for interested stakeholders in the food industry. In addition to exciting lectures and inspiring workshops, a total of almost 100 participants had the opportunity to enter into direct exchange with insect experts. Beyond the pure information value, the format was also convincing in terms of networking: several partnerships were formed!
Due to the positive response, anticipation is rising for the planned insect symposium, which will take place as an attendance event in Kulmbach as soon as possible.
